Last weekend were the KLB Open 2015 @ Berlin Tempelhof. It has been my first time to be at Berlin, so i was a bit excited. Arriving Friday night at my friends flat next to the Tempelhof we had some beers and went to bed to be fit for the next day. The forecasts for the next two days weren’t that good but the weather should be super nice with much sun and 20°C around the clock.
Spontaneously i entered the racing contest after a break of almost 5 years in order to compete against my big friend Pascal Lohmann.
The first places for the final round of the race have been already set from the last event at France, so i had to go through a qualification heat. Wind was perfect for my 18m Sonic by Flysurfer Kiteboarding. After a racing time of 10minutes finished with a great 1st place. That was motivating for the next two final heats. What a great day for me that i finished all my heats 1st for an overall 1st place at the event. So great to be back on top of the podium.
There was also enough wind to run the Freestyle comps for the Juniors and Seniors! What a great level & fun to see the guys rocking the grass.
Big compliments and thanks to the organizers from the KLBA who had a lot of work to do!
Looking forward for the next year. I hope i can make it again to Berlin.
Here are some photos and a video i shot during the senior freestyle comps…
